Hysteroscopy

We offer Hysteroscopy as a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure to evaluate and treat various gynecological conditions affecting the uterus. Hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a thin, flexible tube with a camera (hysteroscope) to view the inside of the uterus, providing both diagnostic insight and the ability to perform treatments in the same session.

Key Benefits:

  • Minimally Invasive: Small incisions or no incisions at all, reducing pain and speeding up recovery.
  • Quick Recovery: Most patients are able to return to normal activities within a short time after the procedure.
  • Accurate Diagnosis and Treatment: Direct visualization of the uterine cavity allows for precise diagnosis and targeted treatment.
  • Reduced Risk: Lower risk of complications compared to traditional surgical approaches.
Our Expertise:
  • Diagnostic Hysteroscopy:
Diagnostic hysteroscopy is performed to inspect the inside of the uterus for abnormalities, often recommended when a woman experiences unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriages, heavy or irregular periods, or pelvic pain. During the procedure:

Why it’s done: Used to detect conditions like uterine fibroids, polyps, adhesions (scar tissue), septate uterus, and abnormal uterine shape.
Procedure: A small hysteroscope is inserted through the cervix into the uterus, allowing the doctor to visually assess the uterine lining and diagnose any issues.
Benefits: It is a quick, outpatient procedure that can often be done without the need for general anesthesia.

  • Therapeutic Hysteroscopy:
Therapeutic hysteroscopy not only allows for the diagnosis of uterine conditions but also enables the treatment of these issues in the same procedure. It is typically used for conditions like fibroids, polyps, adhesions, or other uterine abnormalities.

Why it’s done: To remove fibroids or polyps, treat uterine septum, or address scarring (Asherman’s syndrome) that may be affecting fertility or menstrual cycles.
Procedure: In addition to the diagnostic components, surgical instruments can be inserted through the hysteroscope to remove or correct the problem.
Benefits: Minimally invasive treatment with shorter recovery times and reduced scarring compared to traditional surgery.
